Stir it up Bob Marley drumming groove reggae
Hello everyone, today we will learn the basic groove of the song Stir it up - a reggae groove which is a great starting point for learning this cool style. (later there will be a post about learning the style).
So first of all I suggest looking at the video and the attached notes and then I will write a detail.
Well, then our groove is based on quarter 2 eighths quarter 2 eighths in hi-hat, and our 2nd and 4th will be accented. Let's start by simply playing only the hi-hat with the emphasis on 2 and 4 and after you feel comfortable move on.
The second part is to put in 3 bass and a cross stick.
This is the groove, but it's really important to have the atmosphere of the emphasis on the 2nd and 4th and the rest of the hi-hat beats will be weak and also it's very important to note that in 3rd you don't emphasize the hi-hat because you give a kick and crash so pay attention and fly on that.
Put on the song and play with Bob Marley and enter the reggae vibe.
