Hello everyone for a new drum class where we will learn a new fill.
The fill we will learn today is rudiment (of course) the Six Stroke Roll
His sticking is- RLLRRL-RLLRRL-RLLRRL-R.
So, as you understood, the fill is on sextula and we will play the rudiment as a sextula, which means that in each quarter there will be six beats.
So the fill is 3 quarters of sextula and the last quarter is simply a whole quarter only on the snare. (Watch the attached video)
I will recommend that you first practice the rudiment with a metronome, until you feel really, really comfortable with it.
After that you will start doing the new fill.
Important emphasis - in our fill the first stroke will be accent and in addition the last stroke will be on the hi-hat (open) + bass drum.
