Hello everyone to the our drum community blog.
In today's drum class, we will learn an insanely useful fill, which is built on a fairly simple rudiment, but played on the set, it sounds great!.
So our Rudiment is Swiss Army Flame and its sticking is: R/lRL the first hit is flame then right left and that's how it repeats itself.
So I first of all recommend to those who did not know this Rudiment to sit down and practice it.
Then pass to our fill, the sticking of our fill is: R/lRLR/l-RLR/lR-LR/lRL-R/lRLL
This lick is played in sixteenths, so it's a bit confusing because the Rudiment sits on a cycle of 3, so the beat moves to a different hand each time, which is also what makes it cool.
So of course I will again recommend to start practicing it very slowly, and then increase speed.
Attached is a study video and notes, good luck!
